Isaiah 43:19
“Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”
Waymaker Pecans exists to glorify God by growing exceptional food through faithful stewardship of His creation, building meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities to point people toward Christ.
“We believe the way we grow food can point people to the One who created it. We believe every harvest is a gift.”
“Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights…”
“Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.”
We want to build a brand that demonstrates God's design for agriculture, serves people with excellence, strengthens relationships through meaningful giving, supports Good Samaritan Counseling, a Christian ministry, and uses every opportunity God provides to share the hope of Christ.
“We want the blessings of the farm to extend far beyond our family.”
Christ is at the center of why we farm, how we conduct business, and what we hope to accomplish through Waymaker.
We believe the land, the harvest, and the opportunities we've been given ultimately belong to God, and we have a responsibility to care for them well.
We want to honestly share our farm, our practices, our successes, our challenges, and our faith without pretending to be something we're not.
We want to grow exceptional pecans and create products worthy of being given to the people who matter most.
Ten percent of every bag sold supports Good Samaritan Counseling, a Christian ministry, because we want the blessings of the farm to extend far beyond our family.
We're not just in the pecan business; we're in the relationship business. We want Waymaker to help people express gratitude, encourage one another, and share the love of Christ.
Looking back, the road to farming wasn't the road James and April would have drawn for themselves. That is part of the reason the name means so much.
James dreamed of farming for as long as he can remember, but graduated into a financial crisis and began a career in telecommunications instead.
Poultry in 2015, pecans in 2021, citrus in 2024 — each step opening onto the next.
What once looked like a dream without a way became a reminder that God had been making the way all along.
“Our hope is that our products and relationships point people toward Christ.”
Our faith influences how we care for the land, how we conduct business, and what we do with what God has entrusted to us. Every purchase creates an opportunity to encourage someone and point beyond the gift to the Giver of everything.
